The older I get, the more I'm convinced that I suffer from Intermittent Explosive Disorder which becomes most pronounced when filling out forms. I have been trying to fill out my passport application form for weeks now and thus far I have accomplished next to nothing. My foibles include:
* leaving my passport photos in Chicago
* touching the line with my signature, thus rendering my application void
* forgetting to print in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, thus rendering my application void
* having to get my guarantor's signature twice because the first time she signed my void application
I am currently on my third set of forms. Last night I got so mad I threw the application at a wall, started yelling at my mom, and then drove to the Falls in a rage to yell at G, who kindly offered me liquor to settle me down.
Why do I bring this up? Well, recently, people have been saying I am very similar to my mom [which I don't deny] but I attribute a lot of that to her having raised me. So, I asked my mom the other day if I had inherited any traits or mannerisms from my dad. She replied instantly, "No."
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. Until today. My mom said that after watching me freak out over this never-ending application she was reminded of my dad who apparently flew into similar rages whenever he had to fill out any forms. The reason was that he never read the instructions thoroughly before proceeding, and then inevitably made mistakes and would have to start a new form. He was prone to yelling at anyone around him and apparently threw things while having a fit. It got so bad that my mom had to fill out all forms for him because my dad got too mad, even before he even got the form in the first place.
I must admit, it gave me a laugh. Even though it's not something nice like "you're both really smart/kind/funny" it's nice to share something. So intermittent explosive disorder it is :)

No more teachers, no more books...
The semester is done, bitches. I'm putting my ass on a plane tomorrow afternoon and will be home later that evening.
FYI: My mom cancelled her internet service, so I am internetless. If you need to get ahold of me, either mail me a letter or call me.
I still don't have full details about the Toronto bar night other than it will be on Friday, April 25. I will be squatting at JTL's again (natch).
Ok, I have to go light my apartment on fire because it's a disgusting pit of filth and pack. True story:
I went to do laundry yesterday because it's been awhile and now nearly everything I own is dirty...I get to the laundry room only to discover that I have lost my laundry swipe card. After ransacking my apartment for about an hour, I admitted defeat and went BACK up to the laundry room to buy a new card. Problem: cards cost $5 to replace, and I only have $2. So now my laundry is sitting in my living room/kitchen/bedroom smelling like a pile of steaming shizz which I will now have to pack in my suitcase so I can use my mom's washing machine when I get home. Because apparently I'm an undergrad again. That is all. See y'all soon!

Chicago Drivers
I really am going to die here - my friend got hit by a car yesterday in Chicago! Some douche blew through a stop sign and hit her! She fully bounced off the hood and then started yelling at the driver. Guess why he didn't see her? You know the answer...
He was on his cell phone.
Fortunately, she wasn't hurt but seriously, it's a race to see who dies first.
** Update **
I did a brief search to find out if any stats are available on pedestrian fatalities in Chicago. Sure enough, Chicago has a much higher rate of pedestrian injury hospitalizations and deaths than neighbouring districts in Illinois and Wisconsin. I'm too lazy to look up anything else but the point is...it's time to make that suit out of bubble wrap.

The Dangers of Insomnia
I couldn't sleep tonight, so after 2 hours of tossing and turning, I decided that I needed to get out of bed and do something. I've heard this helps. It didn't.
It was 3am so I figured the thing to do was clean up my hard drive to make more space. I went into the add/remove program section and thought I'd see if there was stuff in there that I never use. Lo and behold - a treasure trove of useless crap! Or so I thought...
You know how it tells you how often you use a certain program and the last time you used it? Well, my computer told me that I hadn't used various Microsoft applications since I first got my computer in 2006. I googled them all to find out what they did and they all sounded pretty useless. One had something to do with media and the other was about webpage design. So, I uninstalled them.
Then I went to review a paper I was writing and found that I couldn't use Word because it had been uninstalled. Then I felt pure, raw panic.
You see, if anything goes wrong with my computer, there's a 99% chance I don't know how to fix it. Considering computers are expensive and necessary for my livelihood, entertainment, communication, and sole reason for living at this point, (except for my Nintendo), I was pretty upset.
Fortunately, I dug out my Microsoft Office installation discs that I brought with me "just in case" and reinstalled the program. However, the jolt of adrenaline has not helped my insomnia.
I should have known better than to mess with my computer. As Eddie Griffin would say, "I was just a dumb bitch."

Wasting Time Instead of Writing Papers
The ringtone on my cell phone sounds like the theme music to Robot Repair, a sketch featuring the late, great, Phil Hartman. That is all.
NKOTB Reunion!
That's New Kids on the Block to the layman. I'm trying not to get sucked into the wave of nostalgia that is hitting me with this latest reunion tour but it's hard not to. Right now I'm supposed to be writing 3 papers that are all due next week but instead I'm watching old NKOTB videos on youtube :(.
Let's take a look at the inventory of NKOTB stuff I collected in the late 80's to early 90's:
1. Pillowcases and sheets
2. Oversized pillow with a big group shot of the boys
3. Neon NKOTB slippers
4. A Donny Wahlberg figurine
5. NKOTB books, one for each member
6. Assorted buttons
7. NKOTB bubblegum
8. Every tape they released (including the Xmas special)
9. T-shirts
10. Glow sticks from their Toronto concert that I went to [I still have the glowsticks...]
11. NKOTB jammies
12. NKOTB poster [natch]
I think that's it but there could be more. My favourite member was Jonathon Knight who was the shy one. He's also a Sagittarius. But now I'm getting turned on to Joey McIntyre who is finally attractive. Poor Danny...still the least attractive one, but he does look better than he did circa 1992.
If you need to refresh your memory of their former glory, please watch the video for Cover Girl. I'll be honest, it's so cheesy it's difficult to watch, especially when the bassist comes in to do his solo. Nevertheless, if I saw them sing Tonight again, I'd swoon.
